Initial Appointment

What is involved in an assessment?                                                                                                             The Therapy in Praxis Limited assessment process includes comprehensive assessment & specific programme planning for effective treatment intervention.

Therapy in Praxis Limited will use different evaluation procedures including standardised assessments in order to identify a child’s underlying difficulties.

Appointment Scheduling ?                                                                                                                 Assessment appointment timings are dependent on the complexity of the assessment and on the individual tolerances of the child.

Typically an appointment would take approximately 2 hours with feedback and discussion time, as appropriate.

Important Information for Assessment ?                                                                                                     Please advise Therapy in Praxis Limited of any contraindications to assessment and any underlying medical needs such as epilepsy, diabetes, etc.

Your child needs to wear trainers or plimsolls, loose fitting trousers , [track suit bottoms] and a T-shirt or sweat shirt for the assessment appointment.

Assessment can be extremely demanding but Therapy in Praxis will ensure that the child’s needs and tolerance levels are considered at all times.

Please be advised that failed appointments, [assessment OR therapy session], without prior notification will incur a charge, [50% of assessment fee].

It would be helpful for the evaluation / data analysis that any relevant medical or educational reports are made available.

Therapy Session ?                                                                                                                                      A therapy session is carried out on an individual basis . Parents are invited to observe through the two-way mirror facility or via the video link.

Therapy appointments are strictly 60 minutes to include feedback / discussion. Please arrive in plenty of time so that you and your child can relax and prepare for the appointment.
